Principal's Message

Welcome to Julia Kiniski!

Our motto is: Together, we learn; together, we grow. Our theme for this year is Joy. We are excited to welcome our students back for the 2023/2024 school year and help each of them grow and flourish.

At Julia Kiniski School, we believe in the power of community. Together we can create a vibrant community supporting each child to learn and grow while developing resilience and well-being (and having a little fun along the way). The past couple of years have shown the strength of our community. Together, we did grow and learn, and together, we flourished despite the many disruptions and challenges. As we look ahead to this year, we remain committed to fostering a learning environment that encourages children to be curious, laugh, explore, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Our staff is a group of dedicated and caring professionals committed to providing quality learning experiences for all students. We value a positive school climate where each child feels safe and celebrated for their uniqueness. Staff work with students to develop creativity, communication, critical thinking, citizenship, character, and collaboration competencies.

We are pleased to provide the following:

  • Quality literacy and numeracy programming
  • French as a Second Language, Grades 4 - 6
  • Daily physical activities
  • A dynamic music program!
  • Leveraging digital tools to support learning
  • Flexible learning spaces to promote collaboration
  • A beautiful learning commons with a robust library collection
  • Student leadership opportunities
  • Extracurricular activities

We are grateful to have:

  • Parents and caregivers who work together with staff to provide the best for the children
  • The support of our School Council, JK Fundraising Association, and the Julia Kiniski Education Society for enriched learning opportunities and enhanced resources for our school.
  • A Commitment to an Inclusive Culture

We look forward to a successful school year!

Yours in Education,

Sherri Humphrys Ed.D.
